1. What we collect

When you back a business we collect: your first name (optionally last), email address, the business you back, the amount and frequency, and whether you consented to marketing. Our payment provider handles your card details — we never see or store them.

When a business applies, claims a page or connects payments, we collect its contact details and onboarding status. Stripe collects the business's legal, identity and bank information directly; we store Stripe account identifiers and readiness signals, not those sensitive details.

2. Why we use it

• To set up and manage your backing (contract).
• To send your receipt, renewal reminders and the manage/cancel link (contract).
• To publish, where you've asked us to, your first name on a business page (consent).
• To occasionally email you about the business or One Pound a Month (consent — opt-in).
• To meet our legal, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations (legal obligation).

3. Who we share it with

Stripe (for connected-business onboarding, payment and subscription management), our email provider (for receipts and manage links), and the business you back. Because that business receives the payment through its Stripe account, it can see the transaction amount and the contact details needed to administer your backing. Your first name appears publicly only if you consent. We do not sell your data. Ever.

4. Storage & security

We use managed providers, row-level security and least-privilege access. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data-protection law. Card, identity and bank details never touch our servers.

5. Your choices

• Cancel your backing anytime from your email link or Manage backing.
• Ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@onepoundamonth.co.uk.
• Unsubscribe from optional emails using the link at the bottom of any email.
• Complain to the UK ICO if you're not happy with how we've responded.

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies strictly necessary to run the site and secure checkout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
